- Casting — Both feet are cast using 3D laser scanning, plaster of paris, or foam box casting.
- Prescription — Your chiropodist completes a prescription and sends it to one of our affiliated orthotic labs.
- Production — Expert technicians fabricate your orthotics, typically ready in 10-14 business days.
- Dispensing — Your chiropodist trims, fits, and dispenses your orthotics, and explains the break-in process.
- Follow-Up — We schedule check-ups to confirm fit and comfort, with adjustments as needed. Orthotics generally need replacement or repair every 2–5 years.
Cost & Insurance Coverage
Custom orthotics in Ontario typically range from $400–$600 per pair, plus a biomechanical assessment fee. Most extended health benefit plans provide partial or full coverage — commonly $300–$500 per pair — when the prescription includes a diagnosis, documented biomechanical assessment, and proof of 3D casting. OHIP does not cover custom orthotics.

Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Orthotics
If your pain is generic and mild, over-the-counter (OTC) insoles may help. If you have a specific structural issue, diabetes, poor circulation, or pain that hasn't improved with proper footwear and OTC insoles, a chiropodist assessment for custom orthotics is recommended.
Our custom made foot orthotics are $575. This fee includes the casting (either 3D laser scanning or plaster of paris bandages), one pair of custom made foot orthotics and the orthotic fitting appointment. Custom orthotics may be coverd by extended health insurance plans either fully or partially.
Most well-made orthotics can last 3 to 5 years, depending on your activity level, materials, and frequency of use.
After your assessment and casting appointment, orthotics are typically ready to fit within 10-14 business days. We do offer rush orders at an additional fee.
